Synopsis It's not easy being a superhero. When not busy looking danger straight in the eye, there's comic book sales, public complaints and failed marketing strategies to deal with. Sometimes it seems the only solace for a hard day of crime-fighting is a trip to the secret café. Our heroes - the explosive Firebang, the voluptuous Mandible Maiden and the recently retired Crescent Wonder - gather to have a drink and welcome the newest apprentice, an eager kid with an unusual name. But the day is young, and there is danger lurking. "American Way" shows what happens when those with superpowers suddenly realize that they are powerless. With a mixture of humor and tragedy, it shows us what truly makes a superhero.

I hate this so-called "play" because this "play" HATES AMERICA."Is this play funny?" Yes, it is very funny. "Are the superhero characters interesting and also original and make you want to read more about them?" Yes they are. "Does this play tell a story that is at first humorous but then later becomes a poignant reminder of our collective frailty in the face of unforeseeable events such as 9/11 and ask us to examine how we react to such tragedies?" Yes but only SNOBS like that sort of thing and I am NOT A SNOB and so I did not like that part because it was SNOBBY but also well done & thoughtful. But the most important question is "does this play LOVE AMERICA?" No friends it does NOT.
When reading SOCIALIST PROPAGANDA like AMERICAN WAY, I like to recall the words of Glenn Beck when he said "the progressive movement is the home of income tax" and this play is probably a progressive and I'm sure the author wants to TAX YOU for reading his play. If you LOVE AMERICA, you should buy this play because this play does not LOVE AMERICA so if you buy it you can load it onto your Kindle and then BURN IT to show that you DO NOT HATE AMERICA like the author does.
This play is so stupid that I have gone to see it produced on stage THREE TIMES just so that I could tell the other people sitting in the theater that they HATE AMERICA for watching this play and then also to mention to them when my favorite lines were coming up.
Because I have seen this play three times and then now also purchased it for Kindle and re-read it twice I can claim to be an EXPERT on it and point out to you these FACTS:
*NEVER ONCE during this play does the author quote from the Bible.
*NEVER ONCE during this play does the author read aloud the entire Constitution.
*NEVER ONCE during this play does the author claim to LOVE AMERICA.
I will not tell you whether these things are good or bad but will just say that if you can THINK FOR YOURSELF you will see that this can only mean that the author is stupid and NOT A PATRIOT.
(Also, even though it's called AMERICAN WAY, the stupid writer misspells Superman's name as "Crescent Wrench." This is because the writer is stupid and HATES AMERICA and has probably never visited here at all except to HATE US.)
In conclusion, I am giving this play five stars because stars are PATRIOTIC and this play needs to be more PATRIOT.
